Having your own sauna to use as often as you want can be one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. Whatever the size of your space and budget, I can help you have the sauna of your dreams. I've built mobile trailer saunas and permanent backyard saunas of a variety of shapes and sizes, from high end with all the bells and whistles to repurposing materials on a tight budget. Let's talk!
If you're interested in building your own sauna, but want some starting advice or help along the way, I am also happy to consult on your build, either to point you in the right directions or help you with each step along the way.

Reclaimed Redwood Sauna
This sauna is tucked on a terraced hillside with a gorgeous view, so of course it had to have large windows to take in the outside beauty. The walls and benches of the hot room are reclaimed redwood rescued from a basement sauna in a house that was being torn down, with ceiling, floor and changing room in new cedar. A tub for cold plunging off the end of the deck completes the experience!
Backyard Sauna
This delightful sauna included wavy cedar shingle siding, a sunset-facing transom window, a candle window (a traditional style window between changing room and hot room - candle on the changing room side lights both spaces and doesn't melt with the stove heat), and a Michigan-made Nippa stove.
trailer sauna
This sauna made wonderful use of lots of reclaimed materials - a landscape trailer, framing lumber from an old house renovation, leftover bamboo flooring, plywood gathering dust in a barn, and even changing room hooks cut from an old broom handle!
